I bought a parts & spares Amiga 500 from eBay. It was described as “the power light comes on.” Sometimes that’s just code for “I don’t have a monitor to plug it into”, other times…. it’s just broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is my first ever Amiga 500 (this video was filmed before last week’s A500 Mini unboxing. I’m still counting it as my first “real” A500.) The description from eBay was in fact correct. I plugged it in and the power light does come on. But in all other respects, nothing happens; it’s dead as a door nail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So we’re going to do a little teardown and discovery. Open it up and see exactly what it is I’ve just bought. It’s not going to come as a surprise that there are problems (the “part 1” in the title is a bit of a clue, and the thumbnail image is another).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are two problems. One is that spoiler<\/mark><\/span>. The other is that spoiler<\/mark><\/span>. Anyhow, forget the spoilers and come with me on a voyage of discovery…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
