Actually, two small problems: no cables and no software either. No wait, three small problems: no cables and no software and no monitor. Among its problems are such diverse elements as&#8230;. Monty Python misquotes aside, before I could try this thing out, I had to hit the Interweb of Things and get hold of some items. eBay of course was my friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fast forward a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Modern power supply brick . . . . . . check<\/li><li>Composite\/S-Video cable . . . . . . check<\/li><li>IEC serial cable (to connect the floppy drive) . . . . . . check<\/li><li>SD2IEC (a thing to use a regular SD card as a fake floppy disk) . . . . . . check<\/li><li>SD card with some software on it . . . . . . check<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These can be found from multiple eBay suppliers. I got the SD2IEC from TheFutureWas8bit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefuturewas8bit.com\/shop\/commodore\/sd2iec-c.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.thefuturewas8bit.com\/shop\/commodore\/sd2iec-c.html <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, armed with these goodies, it was finally time to plug it all in and try it out. Will it work? Will it emit the dreaded blue smoke of death? Will it work happily for 5 minutes and then produce head-scratchingly weird errors?
